Guitar Accessories

Overview

One of the cost-effective hallmarks of acoustic guitars is that it’s like soccer — there’s much fewer pieces of equipment you need to get started, making it so much more economical and friendly to get started with.

That being said, there are a few items which you’ll want to keep in mind for getting started, ranging from fairly necessary to quite optional. For example, you’ll probably want to invest in picks (unless you plan on fingerpicking), and a gig bag might come in handy if you’d like to travel with the guitar. On the other hand, you’ll probably only need a slide if you’d like to learn a genre like acoustic blues, and you may not necessarily need a capo.

Don’t worry about whether you’re not sure you need or don’t need any one piece of gear right now! In the mini-lessons, you’ll learn each piece of equipment’s function, and from there you can decide if you’d find them useful. Fortunately, these types of accessories tend to be quite cheap in comparison to getting your actual acoustic guitar.

Hope this helps to shed some light on your acoustic guitar’s accessories!

Kind regards,
